Meet Member Adam Baker!

Adam Baker was born and raised in Coral Springs, FL and he loves every part of it except for summer. This is why he enjoyed obtaining his Bachelor’s of Science in Biology at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, where all four seasons were present. He will be taking a few classes here at Florida Atlantic University in the fall before pursing his dream of becoming a Physical Therapist. When Adam is not attending Adapted Aquatics he thoroughly enjoys Scuba Diving, especially at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in the Florida Keys. He is also very much a family man and enjoys every moment that he is able to spend with them.

Adam says, "here at Splash Pals Adapted Aquatics we are all a close knit family where we know who we are and what we are here to do; it isn’t the stepping on others toes to get ahead like it has been in other clubs and organizations he has been a part of." Adam spends the majority of his time at Adapted Aquatics with Jose and Ada. With both of them he loves to see the changes and improvements that have occurred since the first time they attended Adapted Aquatics. Jose from not wanting to leave his mother’s side to not wanting to get out of the pool and with Ada how much more comfortable she has become in the water. He lives for those 15 seconds where Ada will laugh out loud and squirt water in the air with her favorite Finding Nemo toy, Mr. Ray. The smiles, laughter, and joy that Adam is able to see on the kid’s faces the moment they walk through the gate is one thing he looks forward to every Monday.

Adam has been volunteering with Splash Pals Adapted Aquatics for the past couple semesters and he feels that Adapted Aquatics represents his life in the way that things happen and you may have to go down a different path in order to get to where you want to be in life and this has been one of the greatest experiences he has had in years. His favorite quote comes from Dr. Seuss: “Be yourself because everyone else is already taken”.
