Farewell and Welcome!
Over the past couple weeks, Splash Pals at FAU made a few changes to their Officer Pals! We have welcomed in new officers with open arms and said farewell to a few Officers as they moved out of their positions and ready for the next chapter of their lives. Jessica Millwood took over the Presidents role, Jack Bayer is now the new Vice President, Nicole Camacho is our new secretary, Tatiana Alvarez is taking over the treasurer’s position, and Alyssa Zak moved into the Outreach Coordinator position. We are excited to see what these new faces will have to offer for their chapter!
Our previous President, Jacob Sherbondy, has graduated from FAU and has decided to take some time to himself to travel Europe and explore a new culture. He will especially enjoy the architecture and getting to hang out with a few of his friends. Jacob has been a part of Splash Pals since August 2015. We had the opportunity to watch Jacob grow as a person and bring new ideas and methods into the Splash Pals at FAU chapter!
Adam Baker, our previous Secretary, has graduated from his position but will continue helping out as a general student member. He has been a Splash Pal since September of 2015 and always looks forward to jumping in the pool with his Best Pal, Jose! Adam will be venturing out to Los Angeles, California to work on his Masters in Aging Services Management at the University of Southern California Leonard Davis School of Gerontology. Adam has been one of our best members, always taking initiative and giving vital insight to how Splash Pals could run better. We wish Adam the best of luck on his move to LA and maybe, just maybe, open a chapter of Splash Pals out West!
Treasurer, Jonathan Freeman, has also graduated from his position and will be continuing to support the program as a general student member. His commitment to helping others led him to the Splash Pals program for the first time in May of 2016 before he jumped right into an officer role that summer! Jonathan will be graduating from FAU this coming Fall with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and then will continue his journey towards medical school. It has been a pleasure working with Jonathan as he was certain to let us know what was working and what was not working within the Treasurer’s role.
Jessica Millwood and Jack Bayer are continuing to commit to Splash Pals at FAU as an officer for the second year in a row. Jessica was our Vice President who was elected to take over the President’s role. She has her support team that has continued to help her conquer her stage fright in addressing the entire team and has been doing an excellent job taking control. Jack has moved from Outreach Coordinator into the Vice Presidents position. He does a wonderful job engaging with our Potential New Student Members and answering any questions they may have about our program. It is their continued commitment to Splash Pals that keeps our program running smoothly, so thank you!
We wish all the best for these three student members in their future endeavors as they make a transition in the coming semesters, or have already made their transition. It has been a pleasure having all of you on our Officer Pal’s team and know you are going to do great things with your future!
